I'm a goofy, open-minded guy living in the lovely state capital of Madison, Wisconsin. Having grown up in the DC area, I'm naturally fascinated with politics, so I'm addicted to the Washington Post and National Public Radio. I love to read, and have decided to take a stab at writing. I hope you enjoy it!
I don't really have much to say about the Art Fair in Madison. Lots of people, expensive art, and pretty good food vendors. (Please see Ellen's comment on irony post if confused). I feel so cheap.
ok, here is my comment on the art fair. I thought it was fun, not so much because I purchased art, but because I got to wander around and see all the amazing creative work people do- the things they are passionate about and spend time on. I can marvel at the variety of tastes and talents... and I love to overhear other people visiting the art fair- 'oh look at this- I love this!' when of course, it's always something terribly awful I wouldn't put in my living room if you paid me. I also love when a piece of art causes someone to stop short and stare. It happens more than you would think. And, there are the 'other' forms of art- the music and the food- which are equally interesting. So, even though all I bought was a falafel and a pottery mug from a high school ceramics program, I had a great time. It was so much more than the selling of art. Thanks for letting me get that out there-
